From 2017, the Dominikanerkirche in the heart of the old town of Krems will be used by Kunsthalle Krems as an additional exhibition venue in the summer season. mehr

The Kunsthalle Krems will be temporarily closed until June 30, 2017. After 21 years of exhibitions with more than 1.3 million visitors, restoration work was urgently needed. This includes, among other things, restoration of the roof, improvement of the exhibition rooms, redesign of the entrance area, underground access to the planned new museum building opposite the Kunsthalle Krems, establishment of a research library stocked from the holdings of the Kunstmeile Krems, and expansion of office space. The reopening will take place on July 1, 2017. In the meantime, the Minorite Church in Stein will present an exhibition project by Michael Kienzer. The exhibition will open on August 27, 2016.
